Backstory
- Maxwell Lyell (Soon to be Maxwell Williams) was born in Hoenn, but is also part Galarian and Italian.
- He had always excelled when it came to his studies, even having an internship at the Mossdeep Space Center during his teen years and graduating high school early.
- Left his family at 16 and settled in Kanto to pursue a degree in geology but struggled due to student debt and other financial issues.
- His older sister- known to most as Executive Ariana, offered him a position in Team Rocket, and with it a place to stay and a paid for education.
- He started out as a grunt but worked his way up to a prominent research position specializing in evolution.
- During his time he often commuted between Cinnabar and the Sevii Islands.
- He also met Archie, who worked with him as his research partner.
- Despite everything Team Rocket had given him, the work began to take a major toll on him, which eventually made him flee back to Hoenn.
- After meeting Tabitha and Courtney, he formed Team Magma in an attempt to turn a new leaf and do something “good” for the world.
- He was convinced that with the proper technology and resources, mankind could be capable of anything including changing the earth itself. His logic was that more land would lead to more resources and space for everyone, making everyone happier.
- He was willing to do anything to achieve his vision and in 2014, everything he had worked on culminated into the events of ORAS/Emerald.
- Nearly destroying the world left a huge mark on him. He was left with deep regret and promised that he would never again resort to such extremes.
- After several years in jail and a significant amount of community service, Maxie is back leading a new and improved Team Magma specializing in environmental research, technology development, and education.
